HBE Yakabit Softphone

Your business line on the desk, the laptop and the phone in your pocket

The HBE Yakabit Softphone turns the devices your team already owns into full business extensions. It is a SIP application, not a separate phone service—it registers against your existing PBX and carries HD voice, video, messaging and conferencing over the internet connection you already have.

One account follows each person across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, so a call answered at a desk can carry on from a handset without the caller ever knowing.

$20.00/month One account per user, typically across up to three devices — desktop, laptop and cell phone.

Overview

What does the HBE Yakabit Softphone do?

A softphone is a business phone that runs as an app, on the devices your team already carries.

Yours keeps the number, the extension and the call handling your team is used to, and adds the things a desk phone cannot do—video, chat, file sharing and presence—on whatever device is closest. It registers against the SIP PBX you already run rather than replacing it, so the switch is a change of handset rather than a change of phone system.

Why businesses are moving to a SIP softphone

It replaces a desk-bound handset with an app that runs on what your team already carries, while keeping the extension, the directory and the call handling they are used to.

  • Cost savings through free or low-cost calls, especially over the internet.
  • Flexibility, with use on computers, smartphones and tablets.
  • Features like call hold, transfer, forwarding, SMS, chat and conference calling.
  • Integration with CRMs, Microsoft Teams and other business tools.
  • Scalability to accommodate growth without significant infrastructure changes.

Calls and messages find people, even with the app closed

Push notifications wake the app so an incoming call rings the handset rather than going to voicemail, and the conversation carries on in whichever tool the team already works in.

  • Push notificationsIncoming calls and messages arrive without the app having to sit open in the background.
  • Chat, SMS and MMSOne-to-one and group messaging with file sharing, kept beside the call.
  • Business tool integrationsConnects to CRM and directory systems so records and contacts stay in one place.

Works with any SIP PBX

Standard SIP keeps it compatible with most PBX platforms, so it registers against the system you already run.

Unified voice, video and messaging

HD calls, video and one-to-one or group chat with SMS, MMS and file sharing in a single app.

Built-in call centre features

Automatic call distribution, IVR menus, queueing and call recording, without a separate contact-centre product.

Connects remote and hybrid teams

Staff off-site work from the same extension and directory as the office, on whatever connection they have.

Flexible deployment

Auto-provisioning from a central dashboard brings hundreds of users live without touching each device.

Scales without re-plumbing

Extensions are added from a web portal, so growth does not mean significant infrastructure changes.

Desktop Call Center

For teams whose day is the phone. Agents work from one window on Windows, Mac or Linux, and supervisors get the visibility they need to keep queues moving.

A full desk phone that runs on the computer

The dialler, the directory and the conversation share one window, and the interface works the way a desk phone does — so there is very little for staff to learn.

  • Familiar by designThe interface mirrors a traditional phone, so the people using it already know how.
  • Calls, files and messages togetherPlace calls, share files, manage voicemail, send SMS and host video conferences from one place.
  • Fits the tools you already runConnects to CRM and collaboration systems rather than replacing them.

One window for the whole queue

Agents see who is waiting, who is on a call and who is free without leaving the screen they take calls on. Supervisors get the same view, plus the recordings and metrics behind it.

  • Automatic call distributionRouting balances workloads across the team, cutting wait times and improving first-call resolution.
  • Presence across the floorAvailability updates live — online, busy, on a call or away — so transfers land with someone who can answer.
  • Several calls at onceConfigurable calls-per-line with busy lamp field, warm transfer and consultative conferencing.
  • Metrics behind the callsReal-time dashboards, call logs and per-agent KPIs, with recordings kept for coaching.

Built for people whose day is the phone

Everything an agent needs is one screen and one headset — no switching windows between the dialler, the directory and the customer record.

  • Professional headsetsEPOS, Sennheiser, Jabra, Poly and Yealink over USB, Bluetooth or call-centre models.
  • Caller history on answerThe caller's previous contacts surface as the call arrives.
  • Quick-search directoryDial from a directory synced with Outlook rather than retyping numbers.

Calls that stay clear, and stay private

Audio and video hold up across the connections real offices actually have, and every session is encrypted in transit rather than only at the edges.

  • Clear and reliableCrystal-clear audio and video for an uninterrupted conversation.
  • Any networkWorks over 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi and ethernet, so quality holds as people move.
  • Encrypted sessionsTLS, SRTP and secure WebSockets, with two-step verification against unauthorised access.

No install? Run it from the browser

The client installs on Windows, Mac and Linux. Where a machine cannot take an install — a shared desk, a contractor’s laptop — it runs in the browser instead.

  • WebRTC in the browserLaunch it from a browser, log in, and start making and receiving calls immediately.
  • Windows, Mac and LinuxOne client across all three desktop platforms, so a mixed fleet stays on one phone system.
  • Fits existing systemsIntegrates with legacy SIP servers and on-premises phone systems.

IVR menus and queueing

Customisable interactive menus answer and place calls, with load balancing by department to cut hold times.

Professional headsets

Works with EPOS, Sennheiser, Jabra, Poly and Yealink, over standard USB, Bluetooth and call-centre headsets.

Caller history at hand

Agents open a caller's history as the call arrives, and dial from a quick-search directory synced with Outlook.
